The Ruddy Boatswain's sign

Born: A lady never reveals her age, and apparently big, feisty landlords don't either.

Family: Two adoptive twin daughters, Barbarella and Barbarossa.

Early life: Nothing is known about Finbar's childhood or early life. He always makes a point of telling tall tales, preferably contradictory tall tales. The only thing he has never denied is his Scottish heritage, because "a Scotsman never denies his country".

Career: Nobody knows what Finbar did before the day he suddenly showed up in Pirate's Cove and bought an old, run down tiki bar with a pile of cash. He fixed the place up, or rather, he tore down the old sign that said "Itsy Bitsy Tiki" and put up The Ruddy Boatswain's swanky new sign. Within weeks, Finbar had transformed The Ruddy Boatswain into the most popular watering hole for pirates. Nowadays, you just can't call yourself a pirate if you haven't paid Finbar a visit at The Ruddy Boatswain.

Rumour has it that Finbar not only serves tired and thirsty pirates rum, but that he is one of the most influential people in the pirate movement, and instrumental in planning and organising all sort of important pirate business with the aim of ridding the world of Willie Gates VII and his Corp Nats. It's also widely believed that his two daughters are as avid pirates as their dad.

Misc: Being Scottish, Finbar feels a natural kinship with the half-Irish Not-So-Jolly Roger and has made it his business to be Roger's mentor in the pirate world. "The Scottish and the Irish have always fought against a common foe. There's no reason to change that long-lasting and fine tradition." And since both little Willie and the Corp Nats are doing disturbingly well, it seems like the common fight will go on for quite some time.
